Henry Island Wind Storm - February 2006
Number of photos: 6
These pictures come from the Pratts, outstations managers at Henry Island, during the February 4th, 2006 wind storm. The following quote is from email sent by Dave Pratt, the past outstation manager:
"We were at the SYC Outstation
on Henry Island for 16 years and have never seen the water this high!
Oh did I mention the storm coming thru? We were thru the "Storm of
the Century, Feb. 1, 1989" but that's history. Waves over the side
walk and a small pond with the normal batch of flotsam next to and
around Dave's Dance Floor was about it. He said a 'couple of waves
lapped at the beach house door', and check out the power transformer
and breaker boxes in the water by the west pier and the ramp tipping
the wrong way with water to the bottom of the piers."
