The mainstation at Portage Bay is normally closed for major US holidays.
These include New Year's Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence
Day, Labor Day, and Christmas. It always closes early on Christmas Eve and on
the first Friday of October, that is the Seattle Yacht Club Annual meeting day.
Occasionally parts of the club such as the Ward Room are closed for private
parties. These specific closures are normally predicted in the Binnacle.
