The biennial NORPAC cruise to Barkley Sound is scheduled for this summer, July 20th-25th, 2008.  The cruise is limited to 30 boats, both power and sail.  We welcome those who want an introduction to the wild side of Vancouver Island.  Racing is done cruiser style with no flying sails.

We have been invited back to visit the Port Alberni Yacht Club Outstation in Robbers Passage for our first night in Barkley Sound.   After 4 race days and one lay day, the fleet will dock in the marina at Ucluelet for an awards banquet at Tauca Lea Resort.  Some boats may continue on an optional cruise extension to Tofino and Clayoquot Sound.  This event is open to sailors of all yacht clubs.  Click here for Shoreside Activities.

        ·         July 19nd - Gather in Sooke (optional)

        ·         July 20th - Green Box party at Port Alberni Yacht Club

        ·         July 21st - Race #1 - casual & fun non-flying sail racing

        ·         July 22nd - Race #2

        ·         July 23rd - Lay day & traditional SYC Star Raft - potluck dinner

        ·         July 24th - Race #3

        ·         July 25th - Race #4 & Awards Banquet at Tauca Lea Resort in Ucluelet
