Opening Day 2010

From Mission Control: The Opening Day Trio and Committee wish to start the official countdown to Opening Day May 1, 2010: “OUT OF THIS WORLD”

We are very excited with the possibility of a different dimension for the 2010 theme. With “Out of This World” the possibilities are endless for activities and decorations, from current events, to movies, TV Shows and beyond, to little green men. All a boat would need to use to decorate is aluminum foil and corrugated dryer venting! We blasted through many different research sources to gather information, even the logo was fashioned from actual NASA mission patches. More information is included in the October Binnacle.

For five thousand years people hae been gazing, at the same stars, guiding their ships by them, learning about their own planet from exploring them, wondering if there is life on them. Parents, children, and lovers, have all spent many a summer night dreaming under them.

Man’s quest for knowledge has taught him to fly and from there to reach for the heavens.
