2012-2013 was a busy year for the Juniors.
The Juniors started off the year with a BBQ at the Elliot Bay Station in late September. The weather was great and there was a rousing game of croquet on a course that wrapped around the building. In October, a new event was added Pumpkin Carving which included bobbing for apples and a donut eating contest! Once again, the skiers in the group came together for another annual pilgrimage to see this year's Warren Miller Movie.
Over the holidays, the officers attended the Commodore’s Ball, hosted guests at the Special People’s Cruise and assisted the Entertainment Committee at the Children’s Christmas Party. The kids also decorated Tom Huseby's J145 "Double Take" and participated in the Christmas Ships Parade at Shilshole on a cold December evening.
Just after the New Year, a group of Juniors used their Christmas card coupon to have a “Dress-up” Dinner in the Ward Room. In February, there was a movie night at Elliot Bay Station screening "Captain Ron".
As Spring sprang, they were back at Elliot Bay Station for a bike ride to the Olympic Sculpture Garden and back for a BBQ in late March, and in April there was laser tag at Montlake Community Center. The Richardson family hosted 20 Juniors aboard "Siam Princess" for Opening Day. Corinthian Yacht Club joined us in the youth decorated category.
For the first the June Cruise and Snooze had a Junior component that included game time at the Springer Property and a little competition on the way over (even thought there was really no wind to speak of). Over the summer months, there were two of the Tuesday Family Sailing Nights that were chosen as Junior Meetups full of sailing and catching up. To round out a fantastic year, a group of Junior who are also artists brought their work to the Club as a part of the inaugural Afternoon of Wine and Art on the lawn in August.
