The following events are RESERVATIONS REQUIRED - Seating and space is limited and all activities will sell out early so call 206-325-1000 weeks before the date!
March 17th, Sunday, 6pm: "Cruising Alaska's Waters" - a video travelogue of John and Sue Donaldsons Alaskan cruises. This is a family potluck affair where we can informally discuss our upcoming cruise plans for the season. No charge, but please call the SYC front desk for reservations and to register your potluck contribution, (206) 325-1000
March 19th, Tuesday, 6pm: Elliott Bay Committee Meeting.
April 13th, Saturday, 9:30am to 1:30pm - "Carl Sutter's Troubleshooting Clinic" - Learn virtually everything you need to know to keep you and your boat healthy and happy for this cruising season. This was a sell-out event last year, somake your reservations early. Beverages, fruit and rolls provided for breakfast; sandwiches & beverages for lunch. Please call (206) 325-1000 for reservations.
Our main goal is to attract about 40 SYC member owner boats to the Marina thereby gaining valuable rent concessions. In order to promote our Station and attract members to the Marina, 10 fun and informative events have been planned which in most cases are LITTLE OR NO COST TO THE MEMBER! Each activity is promoted via advertisements in the Binnacle and a Station Handbook has been created providing valuable information about the Marina's advantages. Due to our heavy concentration of over 130 centralized vessels discounts have been negotiated with over 50 businesses and if your boat is on H or I dock a 10 % monthly discount is taken off of your bill - this all adds up to big annual savings!
Key to our plan is consistent communication to all existing and prospective SYC member owned boats at Elliott Bay. The following efforts are underway or are in progress:
SYC Station Website is being enhanced with updated activities and news.
- Quarterly Station newsletter- providing current information on the Marina, monthly events, committee meeting minutes and general news that affects us all. The newsletter will either be e-mailed or mailed through the post office.
As you can see, the above activities are not only fun but also varied for all types of interests. We hope you are excited about our 2001 calendar and encourage you to be active with these events - early and often.
